Team
In 2012, Dave Furneaux formed BlueIO, making the transition from traditionally venture investing in companies that advanced the Internet age to building companies that have a direct positive impact on society, our human experience, and future generations.
At its core, the team identifies itself as ‘builder capitalists’ versus venture capitalists, playing an active strategic and operational role in each of the companies, completely aligning themselves with the entrepreneurs by embracing a no-fail, long-view approach. Today, BlueIO consists of a community of 40 builders who are responsible for forming and building some of the most seminal companies in the world, including Analog Devices, Fisher Scientific, EMC, among others.
Jan Haas, a 30 year veteran of technology finance and an active investor and advisor to entrepreneurs, joined the management team as President in 2017 to scale the activities of BlueIO. Dave’s oldest daughter, Alison Furneaux, was also actively involved in BlueIO company building activities before formally joining the team soon after.

The team has strong technology and operational backgrounds that allow them to credibly focus on a unique set of markets and opportunities, while building at the intersection of purpose and profit. At BlueIO’s core is the multigenerational community of advisors, investors, operators and innovators who come together for maximum impact across all of its companies.
